50 x 50 cm acrylic painting
Contemporary art portrait.
Yesterday a customer picked up her contemporary art portrait. I am happy to say that I was happy with my work and she was happy with the outcome.
The prices range according to the size of the painting and the type of paint used. The piece showed on the picture took me a total of 12 hours from initial contact with the customer up until delivery.
Your preferred specifications can range from your favorite topics, places, colors, themes, etc. My style does not include copying an exact picture. Creativity around the project characteristics creates the final outcome.
I first draw a black and white sketch of an idea, and if you like the creative approach, you can decide if I go ahead and work on the project.
The customer initially pays 25% of the cost of the entire project. The other 75% is payed when the art project is handed over from the artist to the customer.
If you would like to get your own commissioned art piece, send me a message to the telephone number +4676 3407783.
I look forward to talking to you.

This is my art testing wall in my office. I just rearranged it yesterday. It is a practical way to always change the setup with the new art I am creating. All these items will be placed in a shop planned to be opening in the springtime. As soon as I have an online shop, you will be the first ones to get to know about it.
Aphrodite Embracing her Rock at Palaepaphos (commissioned)
“Aphrodite Embracing her Rock at Palaepaphos” by Regina Zepeda-Albexon
Oil painting on professional oil painting paper (50 x 64 cm )
The area of Palaepaphos (old Paphos) is the mythical birthplace of Aphrodite.
After getting inspired by Botticelli’s “Birth of Venus” and Andy Warhol’s “Birth of Venus”, I ended up painting “Aphrodite Embracing her Rock at Palaepaphos”.
According to a Greek old legend, the birthplace of Aphrodite is located near the village of Kouklia, 16 kilometers southeast from the city of Paphos, in the southwestern beach area of Cyprus. One can see an enormous rock next to where Aphrodite, the goddess of love and beauty emerged naked from the water.
She was created from the foam of the sea caused after Gaia (Mother Earth) asked her son Cronus to mutilate his father Uranus (Sky). Cronus castrated his father Uranus and threw his genitals into the sea.
After this happened, Aphrodite emerged naked from the foamy water next to the rock of Petra tou Romiou (“Rock of the Roman”). This rock is now called Aphrodites Rock.

“The Tree of Souls” (inspired by James Cameron’s “Tree of Souls” in the Avatar movie)
100×100 cm oil paint and water-based metal paint on canvas with 3D heart-shaped aluminum applications. I also placed LED lamps that are hidden behind the heart-shaped applications in aluminum. By Regina Zepeda-Albexon
I know it’s a sad painting. I started this project at the end of March 2020 to convey my thoughts, my love and my respect to all the victims of the terrible Corona virus. I was shocked at how many people died in New York City at that time.
There are still far too many people who pass away while fighting the Corona virus in hospitals, many in ICUs, alone and unable to comfort their loved ones by their side.
Every heart and every candle on this canvas is dedicated to them.
You will be remembered.
“Smartphone Craziness” by Regina Zepeda-Albexon
Oil on canvas (80 x 100 cm)
This painting shows a father, a mother and a child together but not communicating with each other. The green, light blue and pink columns on the background represent the social separation among them. People seem to be in their own digital world. The eyes show how immersed they are in their own digital world.
Since the widespread availability of smartphones all over the world, a considerable amount of people have become obsessed about using them at all times, even at the dinner table.
The personal direct communication among families and friends has decreased, even if they get together. Everyone sits together but often interacts with the phone and not with the family nor friends.
Several studies are under way researching how much the continues usage of the smart phones affects people. Mental health problems like depression, anxiety, stress and poor sleep quality have increased in the young population.
The Tulip Queen
oil on canvas (100cm x 100 cm)
3D additions with aluminum material taken from beer cans
This painting was a wonderful way to cheer me up after the first long and dark winter season I experienced in Sweden. It cheered me up and reminded me to keep my thoughts on the beautiful moments we have in our daily lives. One of my favorite songs is “These Are a few of my Favorite Things” from the Sound of Music movie.
This is one of my favorite things. A shining day with the swift wind carresing my face on a beautiful day. I imagined myself closing my eyes and feeling that I was a Tulip Queen in this beautiful spring day where all the tulips I had planted, had come out in my garden.
Carpediem…Seize the Day!
“My Viking’s Dreams of the Baltic Sea” – Oil on canvas (80 x 100 cm) by Regina Zepeda-Albexon
I painted this thinking about my husband’s dreams about moving to a town next to the Baltic Sea. You can see the light bulb in the upper middle part of the painting as well as a swan in one of his eyes. The swan represents the house which we converted/renovated from an “ugly duckling” into a beautiful “white swan”. We eventually named our home Svanhuset (The Swan House). The swan also represents the numerous swans living at the coastal area close to our home. The boat above his mustache represents his dreams about us going fishing. The red and the green color around his eyes represent the X in the Albexon name.
This painting somehow developed one step at a time. It took me a month to finish this painting.

“My Complicated, Exciting, Interesting, Hilarious and at times Difficult Ongoing Journey”
Oil on Canvas ( 80 x 100 cm)
I never thought it was going to become difficult to answer a question as simple as “Where are you from?”
I often answer I am international. The thoughts that come to my mind are as diverse as the colors on this canvas. I was born in Honduras but lived in Germany almost twice as long as in Honduras. I am a German-Honduran / Honduran-German.
I have loved every place where I have lived. It started in Honduras where I was born and have a beautiful family and then continued in the USA where I studied Computer Science at Texas A&M and then worked in Pennsylvania for several years. My journey surprisingly continued in France for a period of eight beautiful years in Fontainebleau and then in Germany where I thought Berlin was going to be the place where I was going to live for the rest of my life. There I sharpened my studies in computer science for an additional three years and later worked in the IT field for a period of 18 years.
Guess what! Now I live in Sweden.
Moving to a different country is an exciting, interesting, difficult and challenging experience. One has to definitely learn every language you are confronted with on the way and adapt to everything. I have certainly learned to be nice as a flower, adjustable like a chameleon and to be tough as a lion.
My adventurous journey continues! I started painting when the long and dark winter in Sweden ignited the colorful ideas that came to my mind. I always liked to paint, but now I am taking this hobby very seriously. I want it to become an additional profession.

“Facial Recognition” by Regina Zepeda-Albexon Oil on canvas (100 x 100 cm)
A facial recognition system is a technology capable of identifying or verifying a person from a digital image or from a video screen.
There are various methods in which facial recognition identification can be done. The goal is to be able to compare the selected facial features from an image with faces within a database.
My painting represents the three dimensional facial recognition technique that uses 3D sensors to capture information about the shape of a face. This information is then used to identify distinctive features on the surface of a face, such as the contour of the eye sockets, nose, and chin.
Facial recognition cameras are widely used in many buildings and streets around the world, specially at airports. These systems can be controversial since they are tracking peoples’ whereabouts. Some countries could use it as a way to keep intensive tracking of its citizens.
I am interested in computer systems and information technology because that is the field I have been working in since I got my first job in the USA in 1984. I also worked as a system administrator for a period of 18 years in Germany. I am a computer scientist who loves art. I have always loved art as a means of expression, but I have also always loved math and logic. I love to figure out logical computer oriented solutions to challenging questions. That is what I have been doing for more than 20 years.
Here I am sharing a very good explanation about facial recognition systems found in Wikipedia. Let us all support Wikipedia https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Facial_recognition_system
